Finally!

I am finally stitching again! It is quite the relief. I finished two small free embroidery pieces, but I'll have to wait a few days to show you, as they're a gift that's currently in the mail and I'm playing it safe.

However, I found this old piece that I started and nearly finished over a year ago. It got shoved in my purse for a while, and then into a drawer. It was a quick finish, which made me feel nice and productive.

I also spent the last few days cutting and gluing fabric onto hoops so I could start an embroidery display wall! It's not the in the best place for it, but I've lived here for almost three years and my walls are pretty damn crowded.

  1. So happy to hear that you're stitching again! Our obsessions (cough, hobbies) give us so much pleasure that it's horrible when we can't indulge in them. I'd compare to one of those runner-types who's grounded for a few days, but how would I know anything about how a runner feels? My workout consists of alternating between the stove and the sewing room.
My husband currently has a few ugly black stitches on his face due to sun damage. By day he pretends he's a pirate...then comes home from work, and whines about whether it's healing.
Thanks again for being one of the few embroidery designers I really admire.

    1. Ha, sewing is certainly far easier on the knees than running... But yeah, it's nice to get back to it and do something that feels productive (and isn't just a necessary chore, I love cooking and eating, but it's still a chore).

That is so nice of you to say! Sometimes it's hard to know whether anyone is interested in the stuff you make.

    1. Thanks!

And yea for Father Ted love. My plan is to do mostly floral pieces there, with a few snappier things like that thrown in.
